** Any time you pick up a newspaper or magazine, or turn on the TV news, there is always a story about religion. You might not even be aware that what you are hearing about is tied into religion, but it often is.
** Have you ever:
-- heard about fighting between the Jews and the Palestinians?
-- watched the pilgrimage to Mecca and wondered what it was all about?
-- read about the Koran and how Muslim detainees became very upset when they thought it might have been mishandled?
-- listened to people talk about abortion rights?
-- heard the phrase "religious fundamentalists" and wondered what it meant?
-- gotten a letter or a phone call from a soldier in Iraq or Afganistan and heard them talk about Ramadan and how they weren't allowed to eat or drink during daylight hours?
These are ALL examples of how religion impacts our everyday lives!
